OAKLAND, Fla. – DG Doughnuts is planning to close up shop at the former Chevron station in Oakland that it has been operating out of as it looks to reopen in a new location in Ocoee.
The small bakery announced on Facebook Thursday that it will cease operations at the former gas station, 16131 W. Colonial Drive, at the end of business on Saturday, April 2.

DG Doughnuts previously shared the space with a mini-mart and gas station; however, the mini-mart closed leaving DG as the sole occupant of the building.
The bakery is now in the process of renovating its new location in Ocoee, 29 W. McKey St., which used to house the Ocoee Cafe.

The owners launched an online fundraiser on March 3, according to DG’s Facebook page, seeking donations to help with renovations to the new location.

The goal for that fundraiser is $15,000. As of this report, it has raised $4,991.
“All donations will be used specifically for the renovation of our new space, which we hope to move into in the next few weeks,” the fundraiser post reads.
So far, the owners have not given an exact date for the new location to open.
