17-year-old dies in Marion County crash with cement truck, troopers say

Wreck happened on CR 484 at SW 27th Circle

MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A 17-year-old died in a Marion County crash with a cement truck Friday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

A crash report shows the wreck between two Ocala drivers occurred at 11:30 a.m. on County Road 484 at SW 27th Circle.

A 37-year-old man driving a cement truck west on CR 484 got in the left turn lane as he approached SW 27th Circle at the same time a 17-year-old girl was driving a sedan east on CR 484 in the outside lane, troopers said.

According to FHP, the cement truck driver attempted to make a left turn onto SW 27th Circle, colliding with the sedan, which came to a stop on the north shoulder of the road facing east.

The teen was pronounced dead at the scene, troopers said.

No other injuries were reported.
