Investigators said they believe David Tronnes beat and strangled his wife to death in 2018 at a home in Delaney Park.

He was arrested in August 2018, more than four months after his wife, Shanti Cooper-Tronnes, was found dead inside a home on East Copeland Drive.

Last year, doctors and lawyers said Tronnes was not competent to stand trial for the murder, claiming he had “ongoing manifestations of the diagnosis of Schizophrenia,” court documents show.

Reports show earlier this month, Tronnes had an evaluation — the contents of which are currently sealed.

Following that evaluation, records indicate Tronnes now has a competency hearing set for Wednesday.
