OVIEDO, Fla. – A man was arrested after a 41-year-old woman was shot and critically injured Tuesday evening in Oviedo in what a witness described as a road rage incident.
Police said Keegan Johnson, 22, was arrested Wednesday in the shooting.

Oviedo police told News 6 a woman was shot and injured around 6:30 p.m. She was taken to a hospital and was in critical but stable condition, police said.
Luke Bono, who said he witnessed the incident, told News 6 he pulled out of a restaurant and heard honking, which he believed was related to road rage. According to police, Johnson was a passenger in a car behind the victim’s vehicle at a red light when the driver, a 23-year-old woman, “began aggressively honking.”
At another light, police said the two vehicles were next to each other when the drivers began arguing.
Bono said he then saw the woman get out of her car to confront the driver, who began throwing water bottles along with Johnson.
“They started throwing water bottles at her or at the car. They then threw a soda can at her,” Bono said. “She then picked it up off the ground, threw it at the car, and that’s when two shots — pop, pop. They rolled out, and then she fell onto the floor, and the car sped off.”
Bono said the car, which he described as a “dark-in-color Chrysler with the back end bashed in,” sped off southbound — though he was more focused on the woman who’d been shot. He added he saw two men in the car that drove away.
The department said the victim caught a can thrown at her from the suspect vehicle and threw it back into the car, which is when Johnson fired two shots. Johnson told police the woman started hitting him with her fist and that is why he shot her, though police said it was “inconsistent with witness statements.”
Oviedo police said the driver and Johnson were found further down the road and waited to speak with law enforcement.
The driver was not arrested on any charges.
Keegan faces charges of aggravated battery of a person with a deadly weapon and attempted homicide.
