Woman shot, killed near Holden Heights ID’d, deputies say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A 62-year-old woman died Saturday morning after being shot in a residential area not far from Holden Heights, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded at 7:10 a.m. to the area of 42nd Street and Nashville Avenue, the sheriff’s office said.

The woman, identified Monday as Loleta Young, was taken to a nearby hospital where she was later pronounced dead, according to the release.

Deputies have not said what may have led to the shooting nor have they released any information about a possible suspect.

Crimeline is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in Young’s death. Anyone with information is asked to call 1-800-423-877.

A pervious version of this story identified the victim as being in her 30s. This information came from deputies who later amended their release to say the victim is 62.
