ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A written message containing a possible threat to West Orange High School put the school on “hold” Wednesday while law enforcement investigated, according to Orange County Public Schools.

An Orange Connect message from the school’s principal said that all students and staff were safe. He added that students remained in class and instruction continued until the all-clear was given.

Deputies said they responded to the campus at 1625 Beulah Road in reference to the report of a written threat and observed no other suspicious activity.
Students were released from West Orange High School shortly after 1 p.m., and deputies cleared the scene about three hours after the school went into “hold” status.
Some students from the school told News 6 that a threatening message was AirDropped during a lunch break, prompting confusion and questions.
The district has not said where the possible threat was found or what was threatened, and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the incident.
In a message to parents, West Orange High School’s principal said disciplinary action will be taken and can include suspension or expulsion from the school.
