MELBOURNE, Fla. – Melbourne police surrounded a home Thursday morning after a man with a gun threatened another after a fight over car keys, according to a news release.
Officers said they responded to 401 Poinciana Drive, just south of U.S. Highway 1 and northeast of Melbourne Orlando International Airport, after a man called 911 saying Adam Williams, 38, was threatening him with a brown handgun.

Police said Williams pointed the gun at the man after the two had argued over the victim’s car keys.
Officers surrounded the home and crisis negotiators were called in, along with the SWAT unit, as other people were inside the home, according to a news release.
Eventually, negotiators were able to get everyone else out of the home safely and Williams surrendered peacefully, police said. SWAT officers recovered the handgun, which turned out to be a pellet gun, according to investigators.
The department tweeted around 10:30 a.m. about the incident and said it “has been resolved without incident” several hours later.
Williams faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, battery and resisting arrest without violence.
