SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – A missing 3-year-old Seminole County boy was found dead Sunday in a retention pond, according to sheriff’s officials.
A missing child alert was issued earlier in the day for Axel Caballero, who had last been seen in the 1380 block of Ponce De Leon Boulevard in Winter Springs, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

A few hours after the alert was issued, the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office said that the boy’s body was located by Seminole County Sheriff’s Office dive team members in the retention pond.
Sheriff’s officials said Monday that the boy had autism.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family,” the sheriff’s office tweeted.
No other details have been released.
