3 dead in apparent murder-suicide at Osceola mobile home involving man, his mother and her boyfriend

Sheriff Marcos Lopez announced the investigation during a news conference

ST. CLOUD, Fla. – Deputies identified two men and a woman found dead following an apparent murder-suicide near the Floridian Sandalwood mobile home park, the sheriff’s office said.

Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez said that around 2:30 p.m., deputies received a call from a grandmother, who reported that she found her grandson, later identified as 21-year-old Walter Sterling Tedder, dead in a home near Troy Court.

Upon arrival, deputies also found Walter Tedder’s mother and her boyfriend, later identified as 57-year-old Laura Jean Tedder and 60-year-old Michel Beaubien Jr., dead in the home, Lopez added.

During a news briefing, Lopez said investigators currently believe Beaubien was responsible for the deaths, though no motive was provided.

“At this time, we do suspect is him based on what’s on the scene,” Lopez said. “However, just because of the conditions of the bodies, we want to make sure that we’re waiting on a (medical examiner) to positively identify them to make a release and give the exact cause of death.”

Investigators did not say how the victims died, but Lopez added that there is no indication a gun was used.

According to Lopez, the boyfriend has been living at the home since August, and there hadn’t been any reports of domestic violence at the home during that time.

Juan Acosta, president of the local HOA, told News 6 that the incident was unexpected.

“Not expecting stuff like that happen here because this is a family place,” Acosta said. “A bunch of kids you can see here playing everyday.”
