ST. CLOUD, Fla. – Osceola County deputies have identified the man and woman found dead Tuesday outside a St. Cloud home in what they are now calling a murder-suicide, according to the sheriff’s office.
According to Sheriff Marcos Lopez, deputies responded to a residence near Kaiser Avenue and Quail Roost Road in St. Cloud around 9 a.m., after a family member called 911 saying her son was upset and police needed to get to the house right away.
When deputies arrived at the home, a man came out of the house with a firearm and asked them not to shoot his dog, Lopez said. Deputies said they gave multiple commands for the suspect to drop his weapon. The man, later identified as 26-year-old Trace Norwood Woxberg, then ran behind the house.
When deputies went to check on him, they found he had shot himself, according to the sheriff’s office.

A woman, later identified as 20-year-old Hanna Elizabeth Riggins, was located unconscious near Woxberg, the sheriff’s office said. According to deputies, Riggins was found with obvious bruising to her face and wasn’t breathing. Deputies said they attempted to perform life-saving measures on Riggins, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. Woxberg was transported to the hospital, where he died, the sheriff’s office said.
According to the medical examiner’s office, Woxberg’s cause of death was a self-inflicted gunshot wound while Riggins’ cause of death was blunt force trauma.
Lopez said it is believed the two were in a relationship, and there was no history of domestic violence at the home.
