Ocala teacher accused of soliciting child porn from girl’s mother, police say

Eddie Scott faces several charges, including lewd and lascivious conduct with a minor

OCALA, Fla. – An elementary school teacher is accused of sexually abusing a girl and asking her mother to participate in that abuse, according to Ocala police.

Investigators said they received a phone call from a woman who said Eddie Scott, 31, asked for a picture of the woman’s daughter wearing only underwear.

Officers said Scott is a second-grade teacher at Wyomina Park Elementary School.

According to a news release, police learned of more allegations, including that Scott gave the girl an ultimatum between giving him a massage or receiving a spanking. Investigators said Scott spanked the child with her clothes off, then talked with the victim about “sexual matters.”

Scott also sent multiple texts to the mother that were of sexual nature involving the child, including a demand that she bring her child to his home without any clothes on, according to the release.

Police arrested Scott on Friday, March 17.

He faces charges of lewd and lascivious conduct with a minor, soliciting child pornography, soliciting travel to meet a minor and two counts of unlawful use of a two-way communication device, according to Ocala police.

The release read in part, “It’s of great concern that Mr. Scott is a second-grade teacher at Wyomina Park Elementary School. This sort of behavior is unacceptable, especially for a person in an authority position over children. We ask if anyone else has experienced similar behavior from Mr. Scott, to please let law enforcement know.”

News 6 has reached out to the Marion County School District. The district sent a statement saying Scott had been fired.

“This teacher has been fired. Marion County Public Schools hired him this past August, and because all new employees are on probation for one year, this allowed us to take immediate action,” the statement read.
