GRANT, Fla. – If you enjoy the meat sweats, head on over to the Grant BBQ Fest this weekend in Brevard County.

This sweet (or smoky) festival offers free admission, free parking and runs April 14-16 at 4580 1st St. in Grant, which is in the southern tip of Brevard County.

The event features live entertainment, arts and crafts vendors, a classic car and motorcycle show and, of course, plenty of smoked meats with BBQ contests for chicken, ribs and pork.

Trophies will be awarded for each category winner and on Saturday, the Q-Fest Backyard BBQ King will be crowned during an awards ceremony, rain or shine, according to their website. In order to be king, entrants have to enter in all three categories. Heavy is the head that wears the crown.

  • Friday from 3-8 p.m.
  • Saturday from : 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.
  • Sunday from : 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Make you bring your own chair – and empty stomachs – to catch entertainers George Clark, Conspiracy Theory, Luna Pearl, AC/DC tribune band Shot In The Dark, the Blue Diamond Band and Rolling Stones tribute band Stones Clones.
