Parent pulls gun in road rage incident near Forest City Elementary School, prompting code red, police say

Vincent Rosa, 41, arrested in road rage incident

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – A driver pulled a gun during an argument near Forest City Elementary School in Altamonte Springs, prompting a brief code red, according to Seminole County Public Schools.

Vincent Rosa, 41, was arrested Tuesday at the elementary school. An arrest report shows he is a parent to a student at the school.

According to an arrest report, Rosa was behind another parent at a red light around 3:10 p.m. when a “no turn on red” signal was on. The driver told police he noticed Rosa upset and yelling before he was able to turn.

Once he made the turn, the driver said Rosa sped past him and yelled at him, the report shows. The driver then turned into the school’s bus loop and noticed Rosa with what appeared to be a firearm and alerted the school’s assistant principal.

The driver told police while he was telling the assistant principal about the incident, he heard Rosa threaten to kill him, according to the report.

Another faculty member told police she noticed Rosa pull into the bus loop and say he was going to “take care of him” and said the driver tried to “start sh** with him,” the arrest report shows.

The school resource officer and an Altamonte Springs police officer who responded to the school took Rosa into custody.

Police said officers found a handgun between Rosa’s driver’s seat and the center console in a hardcover sleeve.

Rosa faces charges of exhibiting a weapon at a school and aggravated assault.

The code red delayed dismissal for the students, but operations returned to normal soon after.
