ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – One person was hospitalized due to chlorine exposure at the Aquatica Orlando water park on Saturday, according to Orange County Fire Rescue.
Fire officials said guests complained of a chlorine odor that was “Possibly the result of a maintenance worker mixing chemicals.”
A 16-year-old with a history of asthma was transported to a local hospital, but no other details were released on their status.
According to OCFR, six additional people were treated, but refused transport to the hospital.

SeaWorld, who owns Aquatica, released a statement that read:
“A small number of guests and employees at Aquatica were evaluated and treated today after chlorine fumes were released during a third party vendor’s work in a non guest area. Our safety team responded promptly and worked with Orange County Fire Rescue. The safety of our guests and staff is always our top priority.”
