Man dies days after Fourth of July shooting in Orange County

Shooting happened near Silver Star Road and North Powers Drive, deputies said

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A man who was critically injured in a shooting on the Fourth of July has since died, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

On Thursday, the sheriff’s office identified the victim as Decobe Esters, 21.

Deputies said the shooting happened around 5 p.m. near the intersection of Silver Star Road and North Powers Drive.

They found Esters shot inside his vehicle, investigators said.

No additional information has been provided about the case, including the identity of any potential shooters involved.

Deputies ask anyone who might have information on the shooting to call Crimeline at 1-800-423-8477 to submit an anonymous tip. Tipsters could be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.
