SANFORD, Fla. – A 16-year-old boy killed Sunday at a Sanford apartment complex was shot in the head before the shooters drove off, according to a report from the Sanford Police Department.
The report released Tuesday shows several witnesses met with responding officers after the victim, Jamarcus Parker, was shot at the Stratford Point Apartments. Police said he was shot in the head and arm.
A 911 caller reported around 5:50 p.m. seeing a burgundy-colored Kia SUV leave the scene of the shooting, according to the report.
Officers collected surveillance video from several buildings and documented two vehicles in the area that had been damaged by bullets, the report said.
Police said investigators identified the vehicle of interest and its owner, but no arrests have been made.

A police spokeswoman said at a news conference that the shooters knew Parker and targeted him, calling the shooting an isolated incident.
Parker attended Journeys Academy in Sanford. Seminole County Public Schools issued a statement Monday afternoon about Parker’s death.
“We are deeply saddened by this tragic loss,” the statement reads. “Our hearts are with his family, friends, and faculty members. We will have grief counselors available for students and staff as they work through processing their loss.”
