‘Belongs to someone so special:’ Woman looks for owner of pendant filled with ashes found in Sanford

Gold charm in The Fountains Market Place

SANFORD, Fla. – A Sanford woman recently came across a gold charm, and once she found something inside it, she said she’s doing everything she can to find the owner.

Eszter Kiss said she has posted in 20 different social media groups trying to find the owner of a 14-karat gold, four-leaf-clover charm, but still hasn’t been able to track down the owner.

It’s been several weeks since Kiss found the gold charm in The Fountains Market Place parking lot, but after she took a closer look at that charm, it became clear that she needed to get that charm back into the owner’s hands as soon as possible.

“First I thought it was something like nothing serious until I find out it’s a 14-karat gold and it has a name on it – an engraved name on the back and after like two hours I saw a little screw on it and I wondered ‘What’s in it,’” Kiss said. “So I opened that and it’s a memorial pendant and it belongs to someone so special.”

Kiss said there are ashes inside the pendant. Once she made that discovery, she got to work finding the owner.

“The first thing came across in my mind, I have to find the owner of this because it’s very special and very important to someone,” Kiss said. “And at the same time, it’s heartbreaking for someone who lost it.”

Kiss took to social media where her post received hundreds of shares.

“A lot of people were very helpful and they shared my post and a lot of comments, supportive comments, but no luck yet,” Kiss said.

She also called the company who makes the charm.

“I called the company who designed this this beautiful piece, and we tried to find it,” Kiss said. “I emailed the pictures for them and the name as well. And then they couldn’t find it.”

Kiss said once she finds the owner, she wants to offer them a special gift to make sure they never lose sight of it again – a piece of permanent jewelry.

“I’m welding the chain together so it means it cannot fall of,” Kiss said. “It is never going to happen again, so once we find the owner of this pendant I will gift her or him with a permanent necklace or bracelet – whatever they prefer.”

If you are the charm’s owner or you think you might know the owner, Kiss can be contacted through her business’ Facebook page, here.
