OCOEE, Fla. – A man was shot and killed Thursday night near some stores at a busy intersection in Ocoee, police said.
The fatal shooting happened around 8:20 p.m. near Clarke Road and Silver Star Road, not far from a Publix and a Circle K.
Police have identified the victim as Gregory C. Reed, an Army veteran.
Ocoee police were called to the shopping center and found an SUV crashed into a parked car. Police said Reed, discovered suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, was taken to a hospital and died.
According to investigators, the suspect vehicle is a silver or white Mercedes SUV.
Investigators spent hours scouring for evidence at a nearby gas station and the parking lot outside Publix.
No other details have been released.
