PAPENBURG, Germany – Disney Cruise Line has announced a major milestone in the construction of its newest ship, the Disney Treasure.
On Thursday, the company announced on its blog that the stern of the ship is now in place.

With this major construction milestone done, the whole ship is now structurally complete and outfitting and interior work can now begin, the company explained.

The Disney Treasure is set to launch from Port Canaveral on Dec. 21, 2024.
The ship is currently under construction at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. The company said over the past several months, each section, or block, of the ship has been put in place. The last block of the ship will be home to exciting guest areas including the adults-only Quiet Cove and Hero Zone, a sports area for families.
Within the past month, Disney Cruise Line said the new cruise ship has received its forward and aft iconic funnels. Back in September, leaders announced some of the new experiences that will be onboard the ship including an all-new ‘Coco’ dining experience, a Moana inspired Broadway show and Jungle Cruise and Haunted Mansion inspired bars.
Just like its sister ship, the Disney Wish, the Disney Treasure will venture out on several sea trials following its completion in the shipyard in Germany. Once complete, the ship will officially be handed over to Disney Cruise Line.
The company said following its maiden voyage next year, the ship will embark on seven-night itineraries to the Eastern and Western Caribbean from Port Canaveral. The ship will also be among the first to make port at Disney’s newest private island, Lighthouse Point.
