Upon arrival, they discovered that a woman — later identified as Amanda Garrett, 35 — had knocked on the door of the victim’s home, claiming she was cold and “had no place to go,” the report reads.

The victim allowed Garrett in to stay warm, but while they were both sitting on the sofa, a man entered the home through the front door, investigators explained.

The man — later identified as Christopher Ackley, 35 — began choking the victim from behind and told Garrett to check the victim’s pocket and wallet for money, according to the report.

While they didn’t find anything, Garrett picked up the victim’s phone and attempted to give it to Ackley, though the victim snatched it away and wrestled with Ackley to keep control of it, police said.

As a result, both Garrett and Ackley left the home, the report shows.

Police said they were eventually able to track the pair near Yale Avenue, and both were placed under arrest.

According to investigators, Ackley claimed the victim invited them into his home, but upon doing so, the victim began “being inappropriate” with Garrett, so they both left.

Both Garrett and Ackley face charges of home invasion robbery. They are each held on a bond of $25,000.
