SANFORD, Fla. – Traffic was blocked in Sanford on Tuesday evening after a Sunrail train struck a car at a local crossing, according to the police department.
Police announced shortly after 9 p.m. that the crash happened at Monroe Road and Orange Boulevard.

As a result, traffic was diverted in both directions, police added. However, the roadway has since been reopened.
According to investigators, there were no injuries, as everyone was able to exit the vehicle safely before the collision.
