Orlando man wins $1M prize playing Florida Lottery scratch-off game

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – An Orlando man won a $1 million prize this week playing the Florida Lottery’s “500X THE CASH” scratch-off game.

David Nguyen claimed his winnings Thursday at the Florida Lottery’s Orlando District Office as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $820,000, according to a news release.

He purchased the winning ticket from a Publix located at 10250 Curry Ford Road, which will receive a $2,000 bonus for selling it, the release states.

500X THE CASH is a $50 game featuring a top prize of $25 million, what the Florida Lottery said in a statement is the largest grand prize ever offered in any of its scratch-off games.

The game’s overall odds of winning are 1-in-4.50, the statement reads.
