LEESBURG, Fla. – A 20-year-old woman accused of shooting and injuring two people on Thursday turned herself in, according to Leesburg police.

Patrol officers responded to the UF Health Leesburg Hospital located at 600 East Dixie Ave. regarding a shooting around 4:03 p.m.

Police said two victims, a 28-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman, were driven to the ER from the 1000 block of Crosby Street where the shooting happened.

According to the release, Ra’Nyiah Monea Benton was on the run but turned herself in over the weekend.

She faces two charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Police said the shooting was an isolated incident that resulted from a prior dispute between those involved.

Both gunshot victims were listed in stable condition, according to the release.
