The victim — who police identified as 15-year-old Destin Webster-Thompson, a sophomore at Dr. Phillips High School — died at a hospital after being shot in the head Oct. 30, 2023, in the area of The Villages on Millenia Boulevard apartments, police said.

Francois was arrested that December, more than a month after the fatal shooting, once Orlando Police Department investigators deemed him the primary suspect in Webster-Thompson’s death.

Francois has been detained pending trial, Bain’s office said. He’s scheduled to be in court for a pre-trial conference on March 26.
