Riviera Beach police said that the boy was abducted by his father, Jean Simeus while playing at a local park.

The boy was “successfully located” and has been returned to his mother, police said.

“Thanks to the swift and coordinated efforts of law enforcement agencies, the child and the suspect were located in Sumter County when the Florida Highway Patrol stopped the vehicle on I-75. The suspect, Jean Simeus, was taken into custody without incident,” police said in an updated news release.

Simeus is being held without bond in the Sumter County Jail.
