Williams honked his horn and the driver of the other vehicle started driving away, which prompted Williams to yell at the couple and pull up beside them. That’s when police say he pointed a gun at them.
He then got into the drive-thru lane while the victims called 911 and remained on the line with dispatchers until Williams left the drive-thru to tell them what direction he drove off in.
Responding officers say they located a vehicle matching the description of Williams’ Durango near the Murphy Gas Station on Highway 17, across from Lowes at Citi Center.
Officers detained Williams without incident in a traffic stop. The press release indicates that a firearm matching the description provided by the victims was discovered in the center console of Williams’ Durango.
Williams was booked into the Polk County Jail and faces two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent.
