Man shot in Apopka, police say

Officers respond to Myrtle Street and Lake Avenue

APOPKA, Fla. – Apopka police responded to an intersection Saturday where they said a man was shot.

Officers received calls of shots fired around 11:36 a.m. in the area of Myrtle Street and Lake Avenue, the department said in a statement.

The victim, a 33-year-old man who police located shot inside of a vehicle, was hospitalized for treatment of critical injuries and was in stable condition at last check, the statement reads.

Police said that preliminary findings suggested the shooting was an isolated incident and there was no threat to the community.
