Osceola County deputies arrest man wanted in bank robbery

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – A man arrested Wednesday is accused of robbing a bank earlier this week in Poinciana, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.

The heist happened Monday at the South State Bank branch at 850 Cypress Parkway, the sheriff’s office said.

Investigators released a surveillance photo on Tuesday showing a man wearing a blue pullover hoodie and a camouflaged hat who they said handed the teller a note demanding money. The man was handed cash and he took off, said deputies, who did not say how much money was stolen.

According to a news release shared Thursday, the sheriff’s office on Tuesday had already determined the man was Kenyada Jacobs, 46. Following a period of surveillance, Jacobs was safely apprehended on Wednesday and taken to the Osceola County Jail, the release states.

Jacobs faces charges of robbery without a firearm or weapon and grand theft between $750 and $5,000, booking records show. He was given an $8,500 bond.
