MARION COUNTY, Fla. – A woman who was reported missing last month out of Ocklawaha is considered endangered because she disappeared under suspicious circumstances, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
April Nicole Adkins, 37, was reported missing by her family on Feb. 21, several months after they last had contact with her in November 2023, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

Adkins was last known to be living at 13785 Southeast Highway 464C, the release states. She was described as 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighing 130 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes, the sheriff’s office said.
Law enforcement and Adkins’ family are concerned for her safety, according to the release, but no other details about what made her disappearance suspicious were announced.

According to an incident report made Feb. 21, someone claiming to be Adkins’ sister called the sheriff’s office to say she had been unable to contact her since Nov. 23. The person said that Adkins was possibly trying to “stay low” due to an arrest warrant, the report states, but details about that claim were not provided.
Anyone with knowledge of Adkins’ whereabouts is urged to call 911.
