TITUSVILLE, Fla. – A juvenile and a woman were arrested early Tuesday in a carjacking at a park in Titusville, according to police.

Officers responded around 3 a.m. to Parrish Park along A. Max Brewer Memorial Parkway, briefly following the stolen vehicle as its driver attempted to evade capture and eventually crashed, a probable cause affidavit states.

The victim told police that he had arrived at Parrish Park to drop off a friend when he was confronted by a large group of people who claimed he had been involved in a fight earlier that night at another park in Cocoa. A fight ensued in which the victim said he dropped his keys while running to his car to call 911, according to the affidavit.

As he was on the phone, the victim’s car was unlocked by Christina Almodovar, 20, of Orlando, police said. The victim was pulled from the car and beaten as Almodovar allegedly said “take his (expletive),” tossing the keys to “the original suspect,” the document states.

The affidavit adds the victim had reason to believe his attackers were armed given how they at one point said “go get the gun” while he was being beaten.

Almodovar, who was positively identified in a showup and denied all involvement in the incident, faces a charge of carjacking without a firearm or weapon, records show. Her first appearance in court was set for Wednesday at 1:15 p.m.

No further details were given of the juvenile who was also arrested, or of the victim.

Though the affidavit states “Christina acted in concert with the original suspect to deprive the owner of his vehicle after taking it by force,“ as well as that “a juvenile was arrested from the vehicle,” it was not explicitly stated whether the juvenile was behind the wheel of the carjacked vehicle.
