Distant shooting investigated after bullet enters Winter Garden home

Police, Orange County deputies unable to locate shooters

WINTER GARDEN, Fla. – A bullet was fired into a Winter Garden home over the weekend, apparently a stray from a shooting that could be heard in the distance, police said.

The bullet entered the Roxy Lane home Saturday evening, Winter Garden police said.

The woman who owns the home says the bullet went through her living room window, leaving a huge hole in it.

According to police, officers were called to the home and said they could hear gunshots in an area in unincorporated Orange County.

Police said officers went to that area, but the shooting stopped by the time they arrived.

Orange County deputies searched the area with a drone, but no one was located, police said.

The Winter Garden Police Department says a detective has been assigned to the case to find out who is firing shots near that neighborhood.

Authorities said anyone with information about the shooting should call 911.

No other details have been released.
