ORLANDO, Fla. – On April 23, be sure to look into the sky for the “Pink Moon,” the fifth full moon of 2024.

According to Earth Sky, April’s full moon is called the Pink Moon because of the blooming spring foliage – particularly the creeping phlox or moss phlox – not because of the color of the moon.

The moment when this full moon reaches the point in its orbit directly opposite the sun in the sky will be 7:49 p.m., but the best time to view a full moon is when it appears on the horizon in the east, just after the sun sets.

Central Florida has plenty of beaches to choose from, and weather permitting, it should be a great show.
