Video shows vandal smashing windows at Egyptian restaurant near UCF

Violence causes $10,000 in damage to The Dough Show

ORLANDO, Fla. – A vandal threw chairs into several windows at a restaurant near the University of Central Florida, causing $10,000 in damage.

Surveillance video captured the incident, which happened early Friday, at The Dough Show on Collegiate Way. The owner of the restaurant posted the video to social media, and it shows the vandal yelling and throwing a chair into the front windows of the restaurant.

Restaurant owner Ihab Mahmoud said he received a call Friday morning when a delivery worker noticed something was wrong.

“The side was damaged, the front doors (were) damaged, so he damaged like four panels,” said Mahmoud, who opened The Dough Show over a year ago.

In addition, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office noted two metal chairs and a table were damaged.

Despite recent protests over the Israel-Hamas war, Mahmoud hopes the incident was not a hate crime.

“I can show you my post to my friends and I told them, ‘I believe this guy is mentally sick.’ Something happened because he was out of control,” he said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS (8477).
