ORLANDO, Fla. – WKMG-TV News 6, the CBS affiliate in Orlando, Florida, was awarded with two Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards by RTDNA.
WKMG won Excellence in Innovation for transformation of content on its streaming service, News 6+. Specifically, the transformation of the morning-time period, with three new livestream shows. The goal of each of the shows was to transform how WKMG presents news, weather and traffic to viewers.

Trooper Steve on Patrol, hosted by traffic safety expert Steven Montiero, sends the WKMG traffic anchor out of the studio and on the roads -- literally! Steve is often driving to problem areas that are submitted by viewers, answering questions about the rules of the road. He also pops up at community events.
Breakfast with Bridgett, hosted by morning anchor Bridgett Ellison, is a fun spin on the daily headlines of the day. She often sits down with local leaders and guests to discuss important topics in the community and touches on trending stories and how they can impact viewers.
Lastly, Weather Wise with meteorologist Jonathan Kegges brings in-depth weather discussion about various weather phenomenon to the viewers. Kegges also provides real-time, hyper-local weather information and forecasts.

WKMG was also awarded best podcast for Your Florida Daily hosted by Katrina Scales.
