Police say some students earlier this month accused Ramputi of groping them several times, asking students to expose their breasts, and engaged in sex acts with one of the victims. Police say in at least one instance, Ramputi asked to see nude photos of a student.

The charges that Ramputi faces include:

  • Offenses against students by an authority figure
  • Unlawful sexual activity with certain minors
  • Traveling to meet a minor
  • Indecent, lewd or lascivious touching of certain minors
  • Possession of child pornography

The Marion County school district says Ramputi was a teacher at North Marion Middle School in 2015, then transferred to Vanguard High School in 2015. He became a student services manager in 2021.

He resigned on May 21.

Police are asking anyone who may have had a similar experience with Ramputi to contact Ocala police.
