When they arrived, Police said they found Timothy Bornman, 24, roaming the parking lot in only shorts, while holding a metal Stanley cup and yelling and swearing at members of the church.

Police said Bornman shouted “I’m going to (expletive) you up” and then walked away as police approached him.

After ordering Bornman to the ground, police said the man took a seat, then got back up and tried to walk away again. He then attempted to strike an officer in the head with the cup but ended up hitting him in the shoulder, according to investigators.

When Bornman tried to run, an officer fired a Taser three times causing him to fall to the ground, according to a probable cause affidavit. After a brief struggle, police were able to put Bornman into handcuffs.

The affidavit shows church members told police Bornman had broken into a shed that was on the property and retrieved a sledgehammer from inside. The suspect then broke the church door and caused over $10,000 worth of damage inside the church.

Following his arrest, Bornman told police the “church stole everything from him and that’s why he broke into the church and caused all the damage inside”.

Bornman was taken to the hospital before being booked into the Brevard County jail. He faces charges of burglary, criminal mischief, battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence.
