20 acre brush fire in Cocoa 100% contained, no damage to structures

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A 20 acre brush fire that was endangering buildings is now completely contained, according Brevard County Fire Rescue.

Units are on scene in the area of Satellite Boulevard and Soggy Bottom Avenue. Three homes were evacuated, but firefighters said no buildings were ultimately damaged.

A burn ban has been in place in Brevard County since early May.

The following is a list of the current burn bans throughout Central Florida:

  • Lake County
    • The city of Groveland has had a burn ban in effect since Friday.
  • Seminole County
    • A burn ban has been in effect since May 28.
  • Osceola County
    • A burn ban has been in effect since May 29.
  • Brevard County
    • A burn ban has been in effect since May 8.
  • Orange County
    • A burn ban has been in effect since May 31.
  • Flagler County
    • A burn ban has been in effect since June 5.
  • Sumter County
    • There is no burn ban currently in effect.
  • Volusia County
    • A burn ban has been in effect since June 6.
  • Marion County
    • There is no burn ban currently in effect.
  • Polk County
    • A burn ban has been in effect since May 28.
