OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – A man accused of shooting and killing another man at a home outside of St. Cloud has confessed to the crime, according to the Osceola County sheriff.

Sheriff Marcos Lopez held a news conference Monday afternoon to provide an update on the investigation into Saturday’s shooting.

Lopez said Joseph Beck, 29, was attacked in his car while parked in the driveway of a home along Bronco Drive.

The sheriff said surveillance video caught the attack. According to investigators, Joshua Miller, 29, shouted “Where’s my pool pump?!” before forcing his way into Beck’s car and attacking him.

“Mr. Miller then kicks the driver’s side door, opens the door and uses the end of his gun to repeatedly strike the victim in the head,” Lopez said. “During one of those initial strikes, you hear the gun go off.”

Lopez said Miller is then seen running off after the gunshot. First responders tried to save Beck’s life, but he ultimately died at the hospital.

The sheriff said tips from the public helped deputies track down Miller early Sunday morning, adding that he confessed to the shooting after his arrest.

Miller now faces a murder charge as well as a charge of burglary of an occupied conveyance with a firearm.
