ORLANDO, Fla. – The fourth annual Latin American Festival of Performing Arts will be returning to Orlando next week with vibrant offerings to celebrate Latin American culture and heritage.

(STORY CONTINUES BELOW)

The festival is a hybrid event with a combination of virtual and in-person experiences. June 17-20 will focus on the online offerings of the festival. Open Scene will be hosting a diverse lineup of online workshops and plays for anyone to attend for free, featuring art with ethnic roots from Spain, Venezuela, Argentina and Mexico.

The last three days of the festival, June 21-23, will be at Trinity Preparatory School and consist of live performances of exclusive premieres and other in-person activities. These include the U.S. debut of “Bandit & Bad Blood” by Gustavo Ott and produced by GALA Theatre from Washington D.C. and the Florida premiere of Sergio Blanco’s “Tebas Land,” produced by Miami-based Arca Images. Both of these performances will be in Spanish, with English subtitles and audio translations.

The other live performance is called “Odd Man Out,” an entirely different, immerse and sensory experience based on sound. The production consists of a “gripping pitch-black experience that promises to captivate audiences,” according to Open Scene’s website. The show will be performed in English and is produced by PITCHBLACK Immersive Experiences, a company based in New York City that focuses on live performances in complete darkness.

There will additionally be a free art exhibition called “Landslide,” created by Venezuela-born, American artist Gisela Romero, for guests to visit.
