A female was also riding on the motorcycle at the time of the shooting, according to the sheriff, but he did not say whether she was also in custody.

In an update Thursday afternoon, the sheriff’s office said an investigation had revealed the victim and suspect knew each other, otherwise describing the shooting as an isolated event and clarifying the suspect, identified as Kevin Duda, was being held at the Osceola County Jail under an unrelated warrant.

Charges are pending further investigation and next of kin notification, according to the sheriff’s office.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
