Gas leak in Ocala blocking traffic on SR-40

Officials on scene report the duration of roadblock is unknown

OCALA, Fla. – A gas leak that was reported Tuesday morning in Ocala is resulting in a roadblock and traffic delays, according to fire rescue officials.

The gas leak is located in the 4000 block of E. Silver Springs Boulevard and SR-40 and all westbound traffic is being diverted from the area, causing significant traffic delays.

Initials reports indicated that a gas line was struct by a construction crew, officials said.

Ocala Fire Rescue, Ocala Police Department and Teco Gas Company are on the scene and responding to the incident.

Fire rescue officials said the duration of the roadblock is unknown.
