15-year-old girl missing out of Clearwater found safe; man in custody

CLEARWATER, Fla.UPDATE: The city of Clearwater said on social media around 2:40 p.m. Sunday that Ginny Zipprer, 15, and Alexander Puyda, 18, had been located.

Clearwater police in their own update stated that Puyda was in custody.

ORIGINAL STORY: A Missing Child Alert has been issued for a 15-year-old girl out of Clearwater who may be traveling out of state in a man’s company, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Ginny Zipprer, 15, has been missing since Saturday. She was last seen in the area of the 2900 block of Holly Court in Clearwater, according to an FDLE flyer.

Zipprer is 5 feet, 7 inches tall and 107 pounds with red hair and blue eyes, an FDLE flyer states, adding she may be carrying a sage green backpack.

The girl may be in the company of 18-year-old Alexander Puyda, described as 6 feet, 2 inches tall and 140 pounds with blonde hair and blue eyes, according to the flyer. The subjects may have traveled to Georgia in a blue 2017 Toyota Corolla with Florida tag No. 5295YZ, the flyer states.

Anyone who may locate Zipprer or Puyda is advised to not approach them and to contact law enforcement immediately, according to FDLE.
