ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – A 48-year-old man was arrested Thursday on a charge of murder in connection with two deadly shootings in Orange County that occurred just minutes apart, officials said.

Leandro Correa was arrested on a charge of first-degree murder in the death of Jose Carrasquillo, 45. Correa is also suspected of fatally shooting Eduardo Soto, 27.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded Thursday afternoon to Sailfish Street, off Hoffner Avenue, and located Carrasquillo, who was found shot and wounded.

Fewer than 20 minutes later, deputies were called to a mobile home about 3 miles away in the Starlight Ranch community off Pershing Avenue, where they say Soto was found shot.

Both men later died at the hospital, investigators said.

Sheriff’s officials said the motive in the shootings was related to narcotics.

Correa was arrested in DeBary after Volusia County deputies spotted him at the Circle K along Dirksen Drive.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday shared body-worn camera video of Correa’s arrest, stating he and his vehicle were turned over to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Correa is being held in the Orange County Jail on no bond in connection to Carrasquillo’s death. Officials said charges in the Soto case will be added.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
