Substitute crossing guards needed in Polk County

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – The Polk County Sheriff’s Office announced on Monday it is seeking qualified people to serve as substitute crossing guards for the upcoming school year.

The sheriff’s office said that Polk County is in need of substitute crossing guards in the Davenport and Four Corners areas of Polk County. Applicants should be available to work for one hour in the morning and for 30 minutes in the afternoon when scheduled to work a crossing.

School Crossing Guard services is a vital program that “to ensure the safety of our elementary school children walking to and from school.” It is provided by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office through funds from the Polk County Board of County Commissioners, according to the release.
