LEESBURG, Fla. – A man was found shot in the front yard of a Leesburg home on Monday afternoon, according to the police department.

In a release, police announced they responded to the 2200 block of Aitkin Loop around 2:30 p.m. after receiving reports about the shooting.

Upon arrival, officers found the man — identified as James Jordan, 20 — lying in the front yard with several gunshot wounds, the release shows.

Jordan was taken to the hospital, though he later succumbed to his injuries, police said.

Now, Leesburg police are investigating the details of the shooting.

Police explained they have established a perimeter and canvassed the neighborhood for clues, though no additional information has been provided at this time, including possible suspects.
