OCALA, Fla. – Ocala police on Monday pleaded for help in connection with a shooting that left a 31-year-old woman dead, increasing the reward for information leading to an arrest.
Faye Porter was shot and killed June 29 in the 1500 block of NW 20th Avenue in Ocala, according to police.

Police posted on Facebook that a $3,000 reward in the case has been bumped up to $9,500 after Crime Stoppers of Marion County stepped in.
The additional reward of up to $6,500 is available through the Florida Association of Crime Stoppers, in partnership with the Florida Office of Attorney General, and is available through June 30, 2025, officials said. The anonymous tip must come through the Crime Stoppers program in order to be eligible for the additional funds, police said.
“If your tip leads to an arrest, you may qualify for a cash reward of up to $9,500!” police said on Facebook.
After the shooting, investigators said they did not believe there was any threat to the community, but no other details about the homicide have been released.
