📷 PIN IT: Send in your photos for National Dog Day

Your pet’s picture could air on News 6

ORLANDO, Fla. – National Dog Day is coming up on Monday, so show us your canine companion with PinIt! and we might even put them on TV!

Colleen Paige founded National Dog Day in 2004 and chose Aug. 26 because that was the date her family adopted their first dog, Sheltie, when Paige was 10 years old, according to her website. The “howliday” celebrates all dogs and has had a mission this last 20 years to recognize and address how many are in need of rescuing, the website states.

We want to help you celebrate your four-pawed pals by showcasing them on our platforms!

PinIt! is WKMG’s built-in feature that allows News 6 Insiders to upload photos from their communities and pin where the pictures were taken.

Submitting is easy — after ensuring you’re signed up for our free Insider program, web users can click here to find the “Upload a Pin” button and get started. For app users, the PinIt! feature can be found along the toolbar at the bottom of our Pinpoint Weather App or by navigating the drop-down menus of the News 6 App.

Be sure to leave a brief description introducing your furry friend, and don’t forget to choose the “pets” category, too.
