Student stabbed in stomach with scissors at Palm Bay High School; 1 arrested

Stabbing happened at school at 101 Pirate Lane in Melbourne

MELBOURNE, Fla. – A student at Palm Bay High School faces charges after stabbing another student in the stomach with a pair of scissors, according to the Melbourne Police Department.

Police said two students were involved in a fight when one was stabbed in the abdomen. The other student had a cut on the hand.

“Both involved parties have been identified and transported to separate hospitals and are in stable condition,” Melbourne police said.

On Tuesday, police announced that 18-year-old Dominick Glasco was arrested in the incident and faces charges of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and disruption of a school function.

Glasco was treated at the hospital for his injuries sustained during the incident before being turned over to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, according to a news release.

The high school was on lockdown after the incident before it was lifted.

Melbourne police said it was an isolated incident and there is no immediate threat to the public.
