PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – A man and his dog were severely injured after being attacked by five unleashed dogs last week in Ponte Vedra Beach, near Turtle Shores, according to News 6 partner WJXT-TV.
St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office deputies said on Aug. 23 around 1 p.m., two people were on the beach with their dog when they were approached and attacked by the dogs, which were described as a chihuahua, an American bulldog, and three pit bulls.

SJSO is now looking for the handler, identified as a woman, of the aggressor dogs. There is no further description of the handler.

According to officials, county ordinances require SJSO and/or Animal Control to investigate complaints involving aggressive animals involved in an attack.
