It’s the Nelson & Company water tower, located in Oviedo and nestled in the historic district.
This tower sits near the packinghouse facilities. Brothers Gus and Steen Nelson came to Oviedo in 1875, natives of Sweden. They were instrumental to the birth of the citrus agricultural industry in the area and their crates were adorned with “Pride of Oviedo” labels.
The district has a rich history, from hard winters ruining crops to new technological advances in the citrus packing industry.
